Welcome to my website, where I am attempting to showcase the various facets of my professional endeavors.

About me: Curious by nature. I am a biomimetic materials scientist, an environmental engineer, an educator, and an assembler of rusty bits. I spends my free time tinkering in the sacrifice zones, dreaming on two wheels, and documenting the process.

It can be difficult to categorize everything I do, projects often bridge art and science, activism and research. I have separated my work into the following pages

My Background

I manage the Biomimicry Institute’s Launchpad Program, supporting scientists, engineers, artists and designers as they take their nature-inspired solutions from idea to reality. I have a background in environmental engineering and materials science, where my research focused on remediating mining impacted waters. I have served as a research associate at the Center for Advanced Materials Processing and as professor with Montana Technological University. I am also a sculptor, entrepreneur, and amateur journalist who is passionate about science communication and the intersection of art and science. I have volunteered with Butte’s Citizens’ Technical Environmental Committee, the Clark Fork Watershed Education Program, and founded the community bicycle shop Bike Lab.
